Ever since gaining my licence, solo to the IOW has been my goal. Time and weather never seemed to cooperate.  My first attempt I was battling strong headwinds and turned back.

Finally the day came with nice tailwind and I was off. Flying over Hailing Island into the sun did not give me good gopro footage but it was simple and fun to land at Sandown and have lunch. The aircraft trying to land had problems with the wind making me feel very smug.

Fresh battery in Gopro, took off and flew clockwise around the Island. Always over water. Took me an hour. Landed back at  Sandown to refuel and another Gopro battery.

Flight back to Chiltern Park getting great film of Gosport, Southsea and Hailing Island.

This ambition was knocked out the park!
