jo From Passion to the Sky – My Journey as a Pilot

by Ghassan Monal
Qualified Pilot

Flying was never just a profession for me. It became a way of life.

My journey as a pilot has taken me through different forms of aviation, from fixed-wing aircraft to microlights and gyrocopters. Each aircraft has taught me something different about the sky, about responsibility, and about what it truly means to be a pilot.

Over the years, I have accumulated hundreds of hours of flight experience across multiple categories, including approximately 650 hours on microlights, 475 hours on gyrocopters, and 460 hours on fixed-wing aircraft.

What makes aviation special to me is the freedom it offers — but also the discipline behind that freedom. Every flight begins with preparation, continues with constant awareness, and ends with respect for the aircraft, the weather, and the environment around you.

My aviation journey has also extended beyond the cockpit. I have studied and worked in several areas of aviation management, including Aviation Management, Airport Management, Safety Management, HR Management, Financial Management, Marketing & Customer Services, Technology, Air Cargo & Logistics, and Aviation Services Management.

Today, I continue to fly because every flight is different. Every takeoff brings a new perspective, every route creates a new memory, and every landing is another reminder of why I chose aviation in the first place.

This story is not about one particular flight.

It is about a journey — a journey that started with a passion for flying and continues every time I take to the sky.

The sky is not simply where I fly. It is where I feel at home.
